Bookkeeper with Manufacturing or Cost Accounting Experience

Location: Parsippany, NJ – In-person, Full-Time
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000

We are a leading manufacturing company and we are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with Manufacturing or Cost Accounting experience . In this role, you will be responsible for managing all transaction entries, implementing accounting systems, and taking full ownership of the company’s financial operations, with support from an external accounting firm. Position Overview:

As the Bookkeeper , you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations , including transaction entries, month-end reporting , and cost accounting . This role requires strong knowledge of core accounting principles and the ability to implement efficient systems and processes. A background in manufacturing and cost accounting is a must to manage the financials effectively. You'll collaborate with the external accounting firm for guidance and be the go-to person for everything related to finance.

The ideal candidate is a skilled Bookkeeper with experience in manufacturing environments and cost accounting . You are detail-oriented, organized, and have a proven ability to implement financial systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Transaction Entries & Bookkeeping:

  • Manage all daily transaction entries accurately, including accounts payable and accounts receivable .

• Month-End Reporting & Close:

  • Lead month-end closing processes, preparing financial reports and ensuring reconciliation of all accounts.

• Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Operations:

  • Perform cost accounting for manufacturing operations, analyzing and reporting on inventory, labor, and material costs.
  • Ensure the accurate calculation of product costs and provide insights on pricing strategies.

• System Implementation & Team Collaboration:

  • Implement and maintain accounting systems that ensure smooth financial reporting and team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align on financial procedures and provide guidance.

• Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements to management, identifying opportunities for cost-saving and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the external accounting firm to ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.

• Ownership of Financial Operations:

  • Take full ownership of the financial operations , ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or  cost accounting is a must.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with a strong go-getter attitude .
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience in month-end closing and financial reporting .
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to financial management.
