Job Description

Position: Clerical Assistant 
Location: Jamaica, NY
Duration: 2 Months

Job Summary:

The Clerical Assistant plays a pivotal role in providing essential clerical support, including filing, data entry, reception duties, scheduling meetings, typing and preparing correspondence, indexing, and operating office equipment. This position requires a typing speed of at least 50 keystrokes per minute, intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor while liaising with nurses, physicians, staff, and patients. The incumbent will perform data entry and general clerical duties while ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various clerical tasks including filing, data entry, reception work, scheduling meetings, typing, preparing correspondence, and indexing.
  • Operate office equipment such as fax machines, computers, and photocopiers.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Interact with nurses, physicians, staff, and patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address inquiries or concerns effectively.
  • Perform data entry with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining office organization and cleanliness.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in clerical or administrative roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Typing speed of at least 50 keystrokes per minute.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and clerical tasks.

Pay Range: $15.00 hourly - $21.00 hourly
