We are seeking a passionate and dedicated President & CEO to lead a large, multi-program health and human services agency. This role involves managing diverse initiatives under the guidance of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and is essential for driving our mission forward.
Organizational Relationships:
The President & CEO will report directly to the Board of Directors and work in consultation with the Archbishop of New Orleans.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Extensive Knowledge: A deep understanding of nonprofit health and human service providers, with the ability to analyze, monitor, and manage a budget exceeding $50 million.
Organizational Skills: Strong managerial abilities to oversee the collaborative efforts of 29 diverse programs and a dedicated team of 450 staff members.
Leadership Skills: Advanced skills to inspire and motivate Board members, volunteers, and staff to reach their full potential.
Communication Skills: Effective communication abilities to engage with staff, volunteers, leadership within the Archdiocese, funding sources, and local, state, and national partner organizations.
Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating funding and service contracts with a variety of funding entities.
Minimum Qualifications:
A practicing Catholic who appreciates the leadership structure of the Roman Catholic Church.
A college degree is required; a master's degree is strongly preferred.
At least ten years of senior management experience in a health and human services agency, with direct responsibility for managing annual budgets over $5 million.
Proven experience in fundraising with a successful track record in securing major gifts and negotiating contracts and grants.
Essential Functions:
Manage the corporation's policies in alignment with organizational bylaws and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
Uphold and promote the agency's Catholic identity as directed by the Archbishop and the Board.
Collaborate with the Leadership Team to implement the strategic plan, providing regular progress reports to the Board and the Archbishop.
Work closely with all ministries within the Archdiocese of New Orleans to foster collaboration and support.
Advocate for social justice and respect for human dignity on local, state, and national levels.
Engage with the Board in meaningful planning and decision-making regarding the agency's overall operations.
Coordinate and manage the agency's health and human service ministries with the Board and Leadership Team.
Execute contracts, leases, and agreements with government entities, funding sources, and businesses as authorized.
Direct and evaluate the financial performance of the agency, ensuring effective resource management.
Manage centralized support services to enhance the effectiveness of ministries, including Finance, Planning and Evaluation, Development, and Communications and Administration.
Lead and direct the Leadership Team to ensure alignment with the agency's mission and values.
Ensure compliance with accountability systems throughout the agency.
