Producer Data Steward
This is a W-2-only position (no staffing agencies or contractors). All work must be performed in the U.S. Schedule : Mon - Fri, 8 AM - 5 PM CST
Work Arrangement - Remote position at this time (Work-from-Home anywhere in the U.S.).
- If onsite work becomes a requirement, it would entail 3 days in the office.
- Preferred office locations: Denver, CO; Bloomfield, CT; Morris Plains, NJ; Saint Louis, MO.
Role Summary The Producer Data Steward is a key member of a cross-functional EDG team that collaborates with business, technical, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure the proper implementation and documentation of industry and business data standards. The Data Steward leads complex, cross-organizational efforts to ensure data is fit for organizational use, including activities such as risk assessment, metadata management, data quality monitoring, issue resolution, and knowledge management.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong data management background, with a comprehensive understanding of data organization and the relationships between data domains across multiple enterprise systems. A focus on enhancing data quality and governance is essential.
Responsibilities (Producer Data Domain) - Act as the Data Steward dedicated to healthcare payer Producer data operations and initiatives.
- Collaborate with enterprise and business data stewards to align standards and share best practices, representing the Producer data domain in enterprise workgroups and data steward communities.
- Lead Data Governance initiatives in collaboration with business and IT operational stakeholders to:
- Document, define, maintain, and manage data standards and assets (e.g., Critical Data Elements (CDEs), business terms, definitions, reference data, and business rules).
- Ensure the implementation of data governance programs, tools, best practices, and compliance with data standards.
- Assess and monitor data quality metrics, analyze trends, and promote proactive remediation and preventive actions.
- In conjunction with business owners:
- Define and communicate metrics to assess the health and quality of data across enterprise systems.
- Identify and recommend business process improvements, including business case and implementation options.
- Provide consultative stewardship services to delivery and issue resolution teams to ensure efficient and accurate data flow.
Skills - 5+ years of professional experience in:
- Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Quality practices.
- Healthcare payer data products and processes.
- Producer data standards and operations, with subject matter expertise in:
- Producer terminology, concepts, and business processes (e.g., Producer roles, profiles, licensing, onboarding, service models, compensation).
- The Producer data management lifecycle, from Pre-Sales through Sales, Underwriting, Compliance, Commissions, Marketing, Support Services, Financials, and Analytics.
- Operational source systems (e.g., Salesforce, Broker Licensing, Varicent, Platinum), master data management, and analytics/reporting platforms.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, written, and presentation) with management teams and peers.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, engage stakeholders, and influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving expertise, with the ability to think creatively and innovate where necessary.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in data analysis and governance tools (e.g., SQL, SAS, TOAD, Python, Hadoop, Teradata, Databricks, Snowflake, Tableau, Collibra, Infosphere, Alation).
- Project management and Six Sigma experience is a plus.
- Experience with Agile methodology and tools (e.g., Jira, Rally).
