THE POSITION
To monitor City facilities during programs and rentals; to open and close facilities; to set up and take down equipment; to provide information and assistance to the public in person and on the phone; to perform general administrative tasks when assigned; to perform certain custodial duties; to ensure user compliance with policies, regulations, and laws pertaining to facility use; and to perform other duties as assigned. The purpose of this recruitment is to fill current temporary/part-time positions.
Temporary / Part-Time employees work no more than 130 hours per month
AND 960 hours per fiscal year.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Follow established facility use guidelines, policies, and procedures. Open and close facilities. Meet, greet, and monitor facility users. Act as liaison between facility users and City staff. Patrol facilities as needed. Perform facility check-in and check-out as needed. Provide information and assistance in person and over the phone. Check availability of facilities upon request by customers. Assist patrons with enrolling in City recreation programs. Ensuring users are in compliance with facility rules. Assist maintenance staff with room setups. Perform certain custodial duties. Maintain reports as necessary, like incident reports or vandalism reports. Use Microsoft Office tools for communication and assignments. Provide nightly feedback to Supervisor of facility activity. Perform related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
Experience: At least one (1) year of experience in resource management, parks & recreation, or other relevant customer service positions.
License and Certificates: Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required upon hire.
THE ABILITY TO SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND SPANISH IS A DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION.

SALARY
$18.75 - $19.75 per hour (based on years of experience)
BENEFITS
All of these positions are temporary/part time. Temporary employees work no more than 130 hours per month AND 960 hours in a Fiscal Year.
The pay cycle is bi-weekly. With the exception of worker's compensation coverage and sick leave accrual, no other benefits are provided. Employees must contribute 1.45% of salary to Medicare and 7.5% to a retirement plan in accordance with Federal Law.
